The full rules
Everything above, in more depth.
Your roster is 8 Zappies you hold in your connected wallet, slotted into four positions each week: QB, Striker, Mid, and Guard. Each position weighs a different pair of stats — a Striker leans on VLT and SPK, a Mid on SPK and INS, a Guard on INS and VLT — so the same Zappy can be a star in one slot and an average bench piece in another. Who you put where is the first strategic call you make.
Your formation — OFFENSE, BALANCED, or DEFENSE — sets how many roster spots each position gets, shifting where your team's strength concentrates. Tempo is a separate dial from Controlled to Aggressive: a slower Tempo plays it safer, a faster one swings for bigger quarters at more risk. The two work together — an Aggressive Tempo on a Defense-heavy formation plays very differently than the same Tempo on Offense.
Voltball isn't scored like football — it's one continuous Voltage formula, resolved quarter by quarter, driven by your roster's real stats and your formation/Tempo choices. Every quarter gets commentary even in a quiet stretch, and matches play out live at a real pace rather than resolving instantly, so you can actually watch it happen.
- A Hero coach's signature play can swing a quarter directly — Feeding Frenzy, Chaos Mode, and others each work differently
- No Hero on your team just means no coach bonus — your roster and choices still fully decide the game
- The site shows a full quarter-by-quarter breakdown and recap once a match airs
Every result updates Standings — wins, losses, points for and against. At the end of the regular season, the top 4 teams seed into a bracket: 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 in the semifinal, both winners meet in the championship the following week. Win it, and you're the season's champion.
